A Luxurious Family Staycation at The Beaumont, Mayfair

ree

As a family, we often love to travel far and wide — from island escapes to European design hotels — but sometimes the most magical getaways are right on our doorstep. With Fleur deep in preparation for her GCSE mocks, we decided to stay in the UK this half term break  and enjoy a little slice of luxury closer to home. Our destination of choice? The iconic Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair — a true hidden gem that blends classic British sophistication with old-world glamour and modern family comfort.

The Location: Timeless Mayfair Elegance

Perfectly positioned in the heart of Mayfair, seconds from Selfridges. The Beaumont Mayfair sits on a quiet, tree-lined square just moments from the boutiques of Mount Street, the art galleries of Cork Street, and the buzz of Bond Street. It’s that perfect balance — central yet serene. From the moment we arrived, there was this unmistakable sense of calm, a feeling that time slows just a little when you step through those grand revolving doors.

For families like ours, who love to explore but also unwind, the location couldn’t be better. Hyde Park is a short stroll away for morning walks, and there’s easy access to some of London’s most beautiful streets — ideal for a post-dinner wander or an early-evening window shop.

The Interiors: A Love Letter to Art Deco Design

The interior design of The Beaumont is, in a word, sublime. Every detail is meticulously curated — from the rich wood panelling and polished marble floors to the vintage art and elegant lighting. It feels as though you’ve stepped into a golden-age movie set, yet it remains effortlessly comfortable and welcoming for a modern family.

Our suite was both spacious and intimate, with warm tones, plush fabrics, and a sense of understated luxury that made us feel instantly at home. I found endless inspiration in the Art Deco design elements — the symmetry, the soft brass finishes, and the timeless monochrome palette. It’s the kind of design that quietly whispers luxury rather than shouting it — my absolute favourite kind.

Dining at The Rosi: Refined Yet Family-Friendly

A highlight of our stay was dinner at the newly launched Rosi, the hotel’s elegant new restaurant. The atmosphere is contemporary yet nostalgic, with a menu that celebrates both European flair and classic comfort. I'm utterly obsessed with the murals and theme designed by the talented artist Luca Edward Hall, adding a contemporary twist to the hotel’s iconic Art Deco glamour. The cuisine and service were truly exquisite. A special thank you to our sommelier Luca and our main server Destiny for making our night exceptional. Such an Amazing menu by  Chef Lisa Goodwinallen.

Rocco adored the handmade pasta and classic pork pie, while Haydn, Fleur and I enjoyed beautifully cooked ribeye, sirloin and filet steaks and an incredible sommelier selections of wines teamed with the prawn starters and subsequent steak dishes! We finished the exquisite dining experience with a fabulous flambé and desert wine!

The service was faultless — attentive without being overbearing ( thankyou Destiny for making us feel so welcome and Luca for the perfect wine pairings) — and every dish was presented with the kind of artistry that mirrors the hotel’s design ethos. Even Rocco found a favourite on the menu (the pork pie starter was a unanimous family triumph). Not to mention the lovely Yana on reception who welcomed us with the biggest smile and our favourite concierge duo!

A Perfect UK Family Escape

Our stay at The Beaumont reminded me that luxury isn’t always about long flights or exotic destinations — sometimes it’s about creating moments of calm, connection, and inspiration right where you are.

For us, this staycation was exactly that: a pause from the usual pace, a chance to savour the beauty of London, and to spend quality family time before Fleur’s busy GCSE season. Not only that but the chauffeur driven Bentley was one of Rocco's highlights.

If you’re looking for a refined UK family getaway that feels truly special — whether for a celebration, a weekend escape, or just to recharge — The Beaumont Mayfair is the epitome of understated elegance and timeless design. Also a big thanks to Stuart for making our experience exquisite.
