Sunday Brunch at Duke's Hotel London

So yesterday while my husband and I were staying in town we decided to head to Duke's Hotel in the heart of Mayfair for Sunday Brunch. Classically English, Duke's Hotel s tucked away in the heart of Mayfair. Just off Piccadilly and down St James Place.

Thirty-six by Nigel Mendham is their restaurant that is again hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city and you actually feel like you might be at a luxury country restaurant rather than in the heart of the city. It's a beautiful place to have a lunch with your loved ones or a more personal lunch with friends or business colleagues. THIRTY SIX offers Nigel Mendham’s refined, British cuisine. Preferring to keep technology out of the kitchen, Nigel instead focuses on using time-honoured techniques and the very best British ingredients to create mouth-watering meals.

Stylish and chic we were lead to our table and spoiled with choice at the buffet brunch to start with then hot dish options for the main followed by waffles for desserts. We did eat alot considering it was brunch. We both had salmon fillets and a selection of salads to start accompanied by champagne and water. The best way to enjoy a light and healthy brunch.

After our cold buffet starter which was just delectable I was surprised to find myself ordering a hot main course of chicken and rice. Don't forget I'm not a big eater at that time of day. Both the starter and main were so scrumptious and light that I was happy to then move onto the waffles.

I'm a massive chicken fan but never been one for rice, however the coconut rice was just to die for and I finished both courses quite happily. Attention to detail is always key for me and Artur the restaurant manager was so friendly and attentive he really made our lunch something special. Normally we are so consumed by our day to day hectic life that we don't make time for long lunches or dinners but the atmosphere, dishes and staff were delightful and before we knew it, 2.5 hours had passed.

Then there came waffles, naughty indulgence, tick! Light and tasty, accompanied by coffee, this was the perfect way to spend our afternoon in the heart of London. Great food, great staff, lovely and intimate setting. I think this will be my new fav place to sneak away from the hustle and bustle while indulging in great food. THIRTY-SIX was awarded three rosettes for culinary excellence and there's no surprise there as the food is faultless, light and incredibly delightful on the palette.
