So last week myself and the hubby headed to the UK screening of Wardogs in London at Picturehouse Central and what a film. When I had been sent the invite I was honestly so excited to see the film because the trailer looked incredible. I love the director of the films previous work and with Jonah Hill being one of the leads this was sure to be an epic watch. So from watching the trailer I didn't realise this was based on a true story, wow, just wow.
"War Dogs (previously known as Arms and the Dudes) is a 2016 American biographical crime war comedy film directed by Todd Phillips and written by Phillips, Jason Smilovic and Stephen Chin, based on a Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson. Lawson then wrote a book titled Arms and the Dudes detailing the story. The film follows two arms dealers, David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, who get a government contract to supply weapons for U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
The film stars Jonah Hill, Miles Teller, Ana de Armas, J. B. Blanc and Bradley Cooper. Filming began on March 2, 2015 in Romania. The film premiered in New York City on August 3, 2016 and is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on August 19, 2016." Wikipedia
So the film was introduced by the lovely Edith Bowman and Todd Phillips and Jonah Hill himself and what a film. The perfect fusion of humour and action combined with the unusual element of a touching family side storyline. Bradley Cooper also looked every inch the 90's gangster. If you love the hangover you will love this.
