Designer Q&A with Veronica Basharatyan
What's your name and the name of your collection?
My name is Veronica Basharatyan and I'm creative director at BASHARATYAN V Ltd, Our AW16 collection is called "Apres Ski"
Where did you grow up?
Originally I'm from Armenia but I grew up in Russia.
Where and what did you study?
I studied Economics in Moscow State University and then Surface and Textiles for Womenswear at London College of Fashion

Our mainline BASHARATYAN V is bespoke only and is also available online at www.basharatyanv.com as well as our diffusion line Style Notes by BV
What or who inspired you to go into fashion?
When I was a kid I watched a soap oper "Mi Segunda Madre" where the main heroine was a fashion designer and ever since then I dreamed to become a fashion designer
What's your biggest aspiration?
Travelling! I love travelling and all my mainlines are inspired by various countries. Our diffusion line is inspired by various places and traditions in England
Describe your style, In terms of your collections is there a trademark style, method or key fabric you would like to be known for?
Our signature technique is called ribbon-knit - it is a fabric hand knitted from ribbons, we than produce garments, accessories and jewellery from these knitted ribbons.
What can we expect from your next collection?
Our next Style Notes by BasharatyanV collection will be all about transformation! Moving quickly in a new world, where theres no time to go home and change – therefore you need garments that can transform from casual to smart easily.
Which city inspires you?
I love London and I think I get mostly inspired by London.
How do you like to relax?
Love spending time with my friends and singing.
Where's your favourite place to eat?
I love Chinese food, so would say Yauatcha is my absolute favourite in London.
