Birthday Fun at Kidzania
So our gorgeous little princess (or should I say mini diva), Fleur has just turned 7 and to be honest as my career is so crazy with no structure or routine whatsoever I tend to avoid planning birthday parties as I never know what may pop up. Also the fact her birthday falls around fashion week is another reason why it's so hard to plan.
This year though I really wanted to be a better mum and do a party like all the other wonderful parents do. Yet before I knew it, we were a week away from her birthday and only had an afternoon out with a few friends planned, but no party.
I had never been to Kidzania but had heard great things so decided to checkout the site and take Fleur and few friends for her birthday. Then I noticed they offered birthday parties.. Yes, I may be saved from bad mum alert if I can organise the most last minute party ever. Wow I managed to book a 4 hour pass to Kidzania 10 kids and a birthday party. Perfect. No planning needed, I text Fleurs closest friends to see if they could make the trip from Essex to West London and thankfully most of them could make it. So with less than a week till her birthday I had a last minute party sorted, wow, love this place already and we haven't even arrived.
Where do I start with Kidzania? This place is just incredible. We were met by Angel our guide and party host at the entrance who then walked us through the British Airways check-in desk to Happy Birthday playing. It's like a real life airport check-in, everyone gets a tag and then goes through immigration to the village. We were all completely taken aback at how large the Kidzania city was; news rooms, salons, supermarkets, shops, offices, everything you can imagine is there.
I just wanted to be a kid again. The first thing we did on arrival was have a fashion party in H&Ms studio where the girls were all overcome with excitement that they could get dressed up and then they put on a real fashion show. Amazing!! After that our lovely arty host took our group up to a party room and the girls had a fun lunch all organised as part of the package for half an hour along with cupcakes. Our host angel was just wonderful and the parents all got to chill out in the parents cafe while the kids were having lunch in the party room.
So Imagine a 75,000 sq.ft. child-size City where kids are in charge! If your kids have ever dreamt of becoming a pilot, a firefighter, or the next award-winning singer? Watch the excitement on their faces as they try out more than 60 real life role-play activities in the bank, on stage or fighting crime on the streets as a police officer! KidZania is a real life role play experience for 4-14 year olds, blending learning and reality with entertainment. For younger siblings visiting KidZania, we have a dedicated Early Years area which includes three main activities in our: Science Lab, RightZKeepers Residence and the Kindergarten. So checkout my pictures from our incredible day out, her friends have said its the best birthday party ever! Yea not bad for a last minute plan.
So at the end of the day the kids had all earned some Kidzania currency and got to spend it in the shop. What an incredible birthday thanks for making our daughter a very happy girl, we can't wait to come back.. Have you been? What was your child's favourite activity?
