My AW17 LFW Diary
Living outside of London makes it very hard to travel in and out every day during Fashion Week, so I always stay in the city. This season I stayed at the Leman Locke in Aldgate East– an aparthotel. It’s the same check in process as a hotel, with absolutely stunning views and sumptuous interiors to match but you are provided with the facilities to self cater. This was very useful for me as I am currently on a clean eating diet and knowing that I wouldn’t be tempted to order something naughty after a long day put me at ease.
My first look of the season was head to toe Juicy Couture and I later changed into a Kolchagov Barba dress for the AW17 show and the after party which I hosted. My good friend Larissa Eddie also came along to show her support.
After seeing the incredible designs on the runway I couldn't resist and begged the boys to let me change my original dress I was wearing. So Svet and Emilio kindly let me wear this gorgeous black number straight off the runway to host our afterparty at the Cuckoo Club sponsored by Gett UK!
Loving this rock look my jumper and skirt was made bespoke for me by children swear designer Lemu London and I teamed it with Raddar 7 biker jacket and M&S mules. In the picture on the right I'm wearing Zeynep Kartal and just taking a moment to take in the incredible view from my apartment.
Staying in such an easily accessible location during LFW was a godsend. Any time I went to order a Gett UK cab I could see that there were plenty around and wouldn’t have to wait long. Getting to the Diesel party was an absolute breeze! My outfit for the Diesel party was Denim by Miss Pap, Boots Public Desire and clutch Paul Costello.
This MISSPAP denim jacket was perfect for the chilled out Shoreditch vibes of the Diesel party.
In this pic I'm wearing Kim West Latex, Miss Pap, Public Desire and Aspinal.
The best thing about using Gett UK to get around during Fashion Week is I could rely on them to arrive exactly at the time stated in the app, sometimes even quicker! This allowed me to plan my schedule down to the very last minute and being able to do that during Fashion Week is essential. It also meant that I still managed to do a light workout every morning and with Leman Locke providing training mats it meant I didn’t have to bring any of my own heavy gym equipment.
With Leman Locke being self-catering it also made keeping to my schedule a lot easier. I didn’t have to stick to any strict breakfast/dinner hours, which is very convenient as the days tend to be very long during fashion week and plans can change in seconds. My day ran a lot smoother when I could wake up and have breakfast as soon or as late as I wanted.
Wearing Paul Costelleo at his AW17 show and head to toe Juicy Couture with my trusty pink Aspinal clutch. On the far left I'm wearing a Pritch London dress, Public Desire boots and Aspinal bag.
Another Kolchagov Barba dress for the Aspinal of London presentation at Claridges with, of course, an Aspinal bag, plus Zeynep Kartal and Chris Elli Valentino shades at the David Ferrira Show .
It was also very handy knowing that no matter what time of day I got a Gett cab the price that was given at the start of the journey would always remain the same and wouldn’t be subject to increases during peak times or bad weather. I did several journeys to and from Leman Locke to Freemasons Hall and I was pleased that I always paid the same approximate fare each time. Good to know these things when you are trying to keep a track on your spending during such a busy time!
On the last day of Fashion Week I arrived back to find that Leman Locke was holding a wine tasting session. Exactly what I needed! It was lovely to chill out in the lush lobby of the hotel and taste some delicious wines before heading to bed. Download the Gett app or Visit Gett.com/UK for more information. Here's a little bit of coverage I also got in the press this season:
